Today's Monday morning poem is a sonnet from WL Grayson called "No Other Way"
Another way you could not find, O Lord
But have Your Son be nailed upon a cross?
So roughly railed the bitter scourging chord
to tear and gouge as tender flesh was lost.
O agony and anguish! Could You not
have found another way? We call
You wise and El Shaddai, but is this bought
at price too brutal, Son of Man to maul?
But you are great and mighty God above
the fallen minds of little broken souls.
How could we learn to recognize true love
if blood unpoured, unblemished Lamb stayed whole?
To know true love O Lord to us you say:
"To change your hearts, there was no other way."
