This past Sunday, there was a guest speaker at the parish: a Redemptorist priest. He was child born in Saigon and was there when the communists took over. He and his family escaped in a harrowing journey in refugee boats on the seas.
He described the great work that the Redemptorists do. Founded by St. Alphonsos Liguori, they are an order with many missionary programs. In particular, he talked about the work that they do with orphans who have been abandoned or taken by human trafficking.
We all struggle with money, but his words reminded me that there are those who could use the resources more than me.
