I avoided them for some reason (now I know why).<br /><br />But I do think that even if a director degenerates into a hack (notice all of the movies you mentioned were made after Batman and Ed Wood), it doesn't take away from the fact that they were at one point a great director.<br /><br />I agree that Burton has not made a good movie in a long time.
